The 2019 children's drama festival opens in Beijing Theater Thursday.
During the one-month festival, more than 30 children dramas from home and abroad will be staged such as "Swan Lake," and "Sleeping Beauty," along with cartoon-related concerts like "Tom and Jerry" and "Ultraman."
The festival aims to boost the creation, production and performance of children's plays, and promote drama among children for it to be widely carried out in art education, according to Ma Li, an official in children's drama with the China Society for the Studies of Children's Literature.
The organization co-hosts the festival, which will be tailored for children. Besides drama performances, theatrical events such as summer camps and forums will also be held.
